SCORE Study Results of MammaTyper® LRP Model in HR+/HER2− Breast Cancer Presented at ECP 2026

These findings support the potential of MammaTyper® LRP as a locally available low cost molecular pre-screen for identifying patients having an Oncotype DX® RS ≤25 who are at low recurrence risk.”

BERLIN, GERMANY, September 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Cerca Biotech announced the presentation of promising findings from the SCORE study by investigators at the 2026 European Congress of Pathology (ECP), demonstrating the potential of the MammaTyper® Low-Risk Prediction (LRP) model as a cost effective locally available testing tool to identify HR+/HER2− breast cancer patients having an Oncotype DX® Recurrence Score of ≤25.

The multicenter, retrospective study, conducted by investigators from Vall d'Hebron University Hospital, Virgen de la Victoria University Hospital, and Malaga Biomedical Research Institute in Spain, evaluated 211 archived breast cancer tissue samples from patients with previous Oncotype DX® Recurrence Score results. MammaTyper® LRP, calculated from ESR1, PGR, and MKI67 mRNA expression, can identify, with a positive predictive value of 95%, patients classified as low recurrence risk by Oncotype DX® (RS ≤25), who are unlikely to benefit from chemotherapy.

This study confirms the previously presented results of a multicenter study conducted in Germany (H-A Lehr, et al., 2019). In addition, it is also consistent with a recently published Chinese retrospective study showing that MammaTyper® LRP score is an independent prognostic factor in early stage HR+/HER2− breast cancer, and patients classified as LRP low risk derive no benefit from adjuvant chemotherapy (Ding M, et al., 2026).

“These findings support the potential of MammaTyper® LRP as a locally available low cost molecular pre-screen for identifying patients having an Oncotype DX® RS ≤25 who are at low recurrence risk,” said Rich Hughes, Cerca Biotech’s Commercial Director. “We are encouraged by the results of the SCORE study and by the potential of MammaTyper® to become a widely accessible, cost effective, and versatile molecular tool for improving personalized precision treatment of breast cancer.”
